After several weeks of frustrating camera and connectivity issues, I can finally start posting sketches. Victory! I don’t have access to a scanner at this time, so I’m using a camera on my sketchbook and tidying the results in Photoshop; when I return to civilization in late August, I’ll scan everything in properly and replace the images.

The sketch on the left is one of the presenters from training week, way back in early June – I believe he was from the either the New Mexico Dept. of Game and Fish or the National Forest Service. On the right are a stuffed and mounted deer and (I believe) antelope, also drawn during training week.
To explain, since I don’t think I have yet: I’m spending the summer post-graduation working out at the Philmont Scout Ranch in northeastern New Mexico. This is my 5th year working here, and the last for the foreseeable future. It’s a great place to work, and I’m working with a fun group of people; but the pay isn’t great, and I’m not really using my BFA, except in my free time (I’m employed as a cook). So in August, it’ll be back to the ‘real world’ and job-hunting.
